New Center Supports Growing Southern Durham Community

Durham, N.C. – The City of Durham has added a new 24-hour recycling
drop-off center to the growing southern Durham region of the community.
 This new drop-off center replaces the recently closed Woodcroft Shopping
Center site.

The newest drop-off center is located at 3400 Third Fork Drive within the
Southern Boundaries Park.  Entrance to the park is from Archdale Drive.

In addition to the new Southern Boundaries location, the City also has
additional recycling drop-off sites at the following addresses:

·         Festival Shopping Center, 3457 Hillsborough Road

·         Heritage Square Shopping Center, 401 East Lakewood Avenue

·         Northgate Mall, 1058 West Club Boulevard (behind Office Max)

·         Oxford Commons Shopping Center, 3500 North Roxboro Road

·         TFC Recycling, 1017 South Hoover Road

·         Village Shopping Center, 1100 North Miami Boulevard

·         Waste Disposal & Recycling Center,* 2115 East Club Boulevard

* Not a 24-hour site. Open Monday–Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and
Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

All of the following items can be recycled at these eight drop-off
centers:  glass bottles and jars; plastic bottles labeled #1, #2, #5 or
#7; steel and aluminum food and beverage cans; aluminum foil and pie tins;
newspaper; corrugated cardboard; glossy magazines and catalogs; white and
colored office paper; mixed paper (i.e. phone books, white paperboard,
white dry food/material boxes); brown paperboard (cereal boxes, paper
towel rolls); white and colored non-standard office paper (construction
paper, card stock, tablet paper); envelopes (no plastic windows); soft
cover books and folders.

Drop-off center and park users are encouraged to help keep the location
clean and free on non-recyclable debris.  All reports of illegal dumping
should be made to Durham One Call at (919) 560-1200.
