A good neighborhood event ... and all are invited!

> FallFest: A Community-Building Festival in Trinity Park
>
> Come celebrate fall with live music, games for kids, neighborhood booths,
> homemade desserts, and freshly grilled hot dogs and veggie burgers.
>
> The third biennual festival, formerly called ³The Watts Happening² and renamed
> ³FallFest² this year, takes place from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 in The
> Trinity Park and the adjacent 1000 block of Trinity Avenue (rain date: October
> 15).
>
> LIVE MUSIC: The Second String Band (bluegrass), About Fred (acoustic rock) and
> Duke-student band The Pulsar Trio (jazz).
>
> FOOD: Grill-masters will serve up hot dogs and veggie burgers. And
> neighborhood chefs will treat festival-goers to a sampling of desserts
> straight from the pages of ³Good Taste: the Trinity Park Cookbook.² The book
> holds 347 recipes from more than 100 households, plus about a dozen Durham
> Farmers' Market vendors and restaurants. Cookbooks will be on sale at the
> event for $12 for Trinity Park Neighborhood Association members, and $14 for
> nonmembers.
>
> FUN FOR KIDS: A bounce house, face and nail painting, a visit from Durham¹s
> favorite mascot, Wool E. Bull, toy tables by The Play House Toy Store and
> more.
>
> FREE! Everything at the festival ‹ the hot dogs, veggie burgers, lemonade,
> desserts ‹ is free. The neighborhood only asks for donations. All funds raised
> at the event go toward neighborhood improvements, including a major park
> renovation that kicks off this fall. Earlier this year, Trinity Park received
> a grant from the Durham Open Space and Trails Commission Matching Grants
> Program, which means the neighborhood is actively raising funds to match the
> $8,600 grant.
>
> Hope to see you there!
>
> Thanks to the Trinity Park Neighborhood Association and our sponsors:
> Bellasara Massage, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Housewright, Marie Austin
> Realty, Morgan Imports, Northgate, One Hour Air, Rockwood Unfinished
> Furniture, Stone Brothers and Byrd. Also thanks to Duke University for the
> loan of grills and a donation toward food & music for the event.
