Hello all.....
I urge you to support the proposed rezoning under
consideration for our neighbors, town and environment.........

Dear Neighbors,
Please write the members of the Planning Commission at
durhamplanningcommission at durhamnc.gov (this will go to all
14 of the Planning Commission members -- please note
there’s no period after durham in the e-mail address).
Reference zoning case # Z06-54 (Arrowhead).
Second, please come to the public hearing before the
Planning Commission tomorrow night, Tuesday, Nov 14th, at
5:30 p.m. in City Council chambers. Our agenda item may not
appear until as late as 6:30 p.m., but we will try to be
more specific if we can.
Rezoning will protect our area from development that is too
intense to be suitable, just as the Worman/Quail Ridge
project has proved to be a disaster for 91 acres in the
middle of the neighborhood. This developer has won approval
to design cookie-cutter lots that have no regard for the
existing well water supply, stream buffers, steep slopes,
and storm water runoff, and will add hundreds of cars on
Cornwallis and Erwin roads every day.
Rezoning our neighborhood will protect us from the worst of
this kind of development, while allowing sensible
development to proceed for those who wish to sell their
land.
Please ask the Planning Commission to recommend rezoning
Arrowhead from RS-20 (half-acre) zoning to RR (two-acre)
zoning.
Thank you,
Happy Sayre-McCord
