Fast Facts

·         City of Durham residents and the media are invited to an open
house celebration and dedication ceremony for the new Durham Fire Station
#16.

·         Durham Fire Station #16 was recently completed in October 2006,
and will house 12 firefighters in three shifts and one fire engine to
provide 24-hour service for the southwestern area of the city.

·         Guest speakers at the dedication ceremony include Fire Chief
Bruce T. Pagan and Deputy Fire Chief Barry Yeargan. 

·         Free hot dogs and hamburgers will be served at the conclusion of
the dedication ceremony.  Residents will also be able to tour the new
station, the cab of the station’s fire engine and the department’s fire
safety trailer.  Free blood pressure checks and free smoke alarms will
also be available to event attendees.

·         With the completion of Durham Fire Station #16, 15 fire stations
are now strategically located throughout the city and are serving
residents 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week.
