ANNOUNCEMENT

The Durham Board of County Commissioners solicits applicants to fill 
positions on the following citizen boards and commissions:

∑ Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee (2 positions)
∑ Animal Control Advisory Committee (2 positions—1 Veterinarian & 1 
At-large)
∑ Animal Control Review Board (1 position)
∑ Area Mental Health Board (1 At-large position)
∑ Boxing and Wrestling Commission (1 position)
∑ Citizens Advisory Committee (1 position)
∑ Civic Center Authority (1 position)
∑ Criminal Justice Partnership Act Advisory Board (1 Criminal Defense 
Attorney)
∑ Emergency Medical Services Council (1 Duke Life Flight 
representative; 3 First Responders—1 Lebanon Volunteer Fire Dept., 1 Eno 
Volunteer Fire Dept., & 1 New Hope Volunteer Fire Dept.; and 1 Law 
Enforcement—NC Hwy Patrol)
∑ Environmental Affairs Board (2 positions—1 Public Health and 1 
Engineering)
∑ Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Authority (2 positions)
∑ Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (1 Substance Abuse Professional; 
and 1 Juvenile Defense Attorney)
∑ Library Board (1 position)
∑ Multi-Jurisdictional Advisory Board (3 positions)
∑ Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee (12 positions)
∑ Open Space and Trails (2 At-large positions)
∑ Operation Breakthrough (1 position)
∑ Public Health Board (1 Optometrist; and 1 At-large)
∑ Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority (2 positions)
∑ Transportation Advisory Board (1 position)
∑ Workforce Development Board (2 Private-Sector positions)

Property tax listing must be current.  County and City taxes must not 
reflect any delinquencies before an application is submitted.

Appointments will be considered by the County Commissioners on Monday,
February 26, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, second 
floor, Durham County Government Administrative Complex, 200 East Main 
Street.
