11th Annual Tour Explores Durham’s Trinity Story ~ May 5, 2007

> This May, take advantage of the chance to visit those Durham showplaces you‚ve
> been eyeing in Trinity Park, Trinity Heights and Duke East campus. Trinity
> Heights and Trinity Park grew up around the campus of Trinity College after it
> moved to Durham in 1891 from Randolph County. Every type of house from
> mansions to bungalows was built in the following years with many of them built
> for college professors and administrators.  This year‚s tour events will
> explore these lovely old structures and their historic connections with
> Trinity College and Duke‚s East Campus.
>  
> Saturday, May 5th from 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
>  
> On Tour Day, see 14 residential and institutional architectural masterpieces
> located throughout Trinity Park, Trinity Heights, and Duke‚s East Campus.
> These include the East Duke Building, The Ark, the Cap and Anna Card House,
> the Bassett-Brown House, the Cole-Bloomquist House, the Whitted House and
> Asbury United Methodist Church. Organ concerts will be given there in the
> sanctuary.  Also, two houses in Duke‚s award winning Trinity Heights
> Development will be part of the tour.
> 
> NOTE: East Duke Building will close at 1:00.
> Shoes must be removed at The Ark.  Booties will be available
> 
> Two 30-minute Organ Concerts will be held at Asbury Methodist: 2:30 & 3:30.

> On tour day, tickets are $25 and are only available at 501 Watts Street,
> corner of W. Trinity Avenue and at 801 Onslow Street, corner of W. Markham
> Avenue.

In addition, the Trinity Park Neighborhood Association will be selling boxed
lunches, cookies, brownies and bottled water at The Trinity Park, corner of
Watts Street and Trinity Avenue from 11am-2pm.
