Second Annual H2Oh! Festival Set for May 11
Durham, N.C. The City of Durhams Department of Water Management is
hosting the second annual H2Oh! Festival from 9 a.m. 12:30 p.m. on
Friday, May 11, 2007, at the Citys Brown Water Treatment Plant, 1615
Infinity Road, Durham. Local school children will participate in a number
of hands-on water related educational activities and receive a guided tour
of the Citys Brown Water Treatment Plant.
In addition to the H2Oh! Festival, Mayor William V. Bill Bell will issue
a proclamation at the May 7 City Council meeting declaring May as Drinking
Water Month in the City of Durham. The proclamation acknowledges the
contributions of water plant operators, lab technicians and other water
industry professionals for their roles in providing a clean, safe and
adequate supply of drinking water to residents.
Also at the May 7 meeting, Bell will recognize six student artists from
three local schools who created winning interpretations in the Citys 2007
Water Conservation Poster Contest. The contest, coordinated by the Citys
Department of Water Management Conservation Program, is a part of the
Citys annual celebration of Drinking Water Month.
