Clean Energy Durham volunteer Judy Kincaid¹s presentation will include an
informative and engaging 40-minute slide show about what householdsand
neighborhoodscan do to save money and to have a positive impact, both
locally and globally. For more information about the Ecological Lifestyles

Clean Energy Durham is a nonprofit volunteer organization supported by the
Durham County Cooperative Extension Service. The organization promotes
renewable energy and energy efficiency to reduce energy expenses, reduce
global warming and improve the local economy, public health and national
security.

purchase at the event. No food or drink may be brought into the event. No
Pets are allowed
Most of the parking decks in downtown will be open and will be free! The
following parking decks will be available during the event: American Tobacco
North & South Decks, Corcoran St Deck, Chapel Hill St Deck (entry off of
Mangum St), Durham Centre Deck & the Church Street Deck.

In celebration of the healing arts, The Scrap Exchange Gallery will be
hosting back-to-back art therapy related exhibits.
June 15 - July 16
The first exhibit is designed to help raise awareness for the Art Therapy
Association of North Carolina.
July 20 - August 20
The second exhibit will be on display from the July 20 Culture Crawl through
August 13. It will feature art from Creative Living, a day program in
Raleigh run by the Autism Society of North Carolina for autistic adults who
use art therapy as a daily practice.

There is a summer film series at Manbites Dog Theatre. The movies are
(sometimes very loosely) related to the art, music and theatrical happenings
on the weekends as part of Manbites¹ MUSE Festival.
$5 suggestedthe main cost is to recoup is a modest amount for renting the
projector. There¹ll be popcorn and soda, too.
All start times are 8 p.m. except where noted.
June 25: An evening of locally-produced films, including Willow Garden by
Durham¹s Jim Haverkamp and Shelter by Cary¹s Christian McIlwain (featuring
perfs by some familiar faces from MDT).

The Never (indie-rock group)

Free and open to the public
The Never features Noah Smith, guitar and vocals; Joah Tunnell, bass, piano
and vocals; and Jonny Tunnell, drums and vocals. The band is currently
touring in support of its fourth release, ³Antarctica,² a CD/storybook
pairing. The 50-page book was written and illustrated by Smith; the music
is classic pop rock, with elements of classical and bluegrass. The story
follows Paul, a naïve boy who tries to find the owner of a large bomb he
discovers near his home in the country. The library¹s performance, which
will feature narrator Gregor McElvogue, is intended to remind everyoneyoung
and oldof simple childhood pleasures and the beauty that the world has to
offer.

The exhibit chronicles the lives of members of the Duke University Health
System community who have felt the impact of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the
Civil Rights Movement with photographs by Jim Lee and Leah Sobsey.

Fun, hands-on environmental programs in our backyard parks. From amphibians
to canoeing we will explore the natural world around us. We'll also offer a
monthly night hike, giving participants an opportunity to experience the
fascinating world of nature at night. These programs are open to the general
public, all ages, and are free. Pre-registration is required only for the
nighthikes, paddle programs, and day trips. For more information on any
