INC NEWS - REVISED: County Board Openings

This came this morning regarding open County Boards, Commission, and
Authority openings. It states it is revised. I didn't check it against
Pats' posting of these to see what the difference is, but this came from
the person that sends these notices out. She says it's been revised. So
here is the revised openings. This notice supercedes Pats' posting.

If you live where one of the following Fire Departments serve you, I would
urge you to contact them and have them send someone to fill the vacant
positions.

Lebanon Volunteer Fire Dept., 1
Eno Volunteer Fire Dept.
1 New Hope Volunteer Fire Dept.

They have been listed for more than a year. They receive our tax dollars
in support, so we need to have our interests represented. I am looking
into tieing their funding to their representation. This should get them
more involved.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Durham Board of County Commissioners solicits applicants to fill
positions on the following citizen boards and commissions:

*        Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (2 positions)
*        Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee (5 positions)
*        Board of Adjustment (1 "Alternate" position; Applications due by
June 29)
*        Civic Center Authority (1 position)
*        Design District Review Team (1 position)
*        Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees (1
position)
*        Emergency Medical Services Council (3 First Responders-1 Lebanon
Volunteer Fire Dept., 1 Eno Volunteer Fire Dept., & 1 New Hope
Volunteer Fire Dept)
*        Library Board of Trustees (4 positions)
*        Multi-Jurisdictional Advisory Board (3 positions)
*        Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee (5 positions)
*        Public Health Board (1 "Optometrist" position)
*        Workforce Development Board (1 "Private Sector" position)

Property tax listing must be current.  County and City taxes must not
reflect any delinquencies before an application is submitted.

Appointments will be considered by the County Commissioners on Monday,
July 23, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, second
floor, Durham County Government Administrative Complex, 200 East Main
Street.
