In January DBAC unanimously voted to support the proposed Durham County Ordinance limiting solicitations out of roadways, intersections and right-of-ways. On January 14th the Durham County Commissioners voted to pass this ordinance and reaffirmed that position on January 28th, which will mean that the new ordinance will take effect July 1st, 2008. Durham has a long history of compassion and support for those in need. This month's speaker will provide an update on DCYSC and how this effort will help continue this history and provide alternatives to individuals who solicit alms, have a mental or physical disability and/or chemical addiction.

Do you have an opinion? We encourage your input. Please come and participate!

The presentation will begin shortly after brief introductions and take about 25 minutes followed by 25 minutes allotted for questions and answers. We hope to be completed by 9am. We expect a full room so please consider coming a little before 8 to get a seat.
