INC NEWS - FREE Substance Abuse Prevention Training

Good  Morning! 
The Department of  Public Instruction and North Carolina Division of Mental 
Health, Developmental  Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services (NCDMHDDSAS) 
are pleased to  co-sponsor a Training of Trainers for the Media Ready 
curriculum, a  research-based media literacy program for 6th- to 8th-grade students, 
designed  to delay or prevent the onset of substance use, particularly with 
respect to  underage drinking.  
Workshop  Dates:                  July  21-22                                 
 Durham, NC 
Cost: NCSDFS Community  Prevention Providers have prepaid for this event so 
there is no cost to  participants for conference registration.  This is a value 
of $633.09 per  participant.  Registration includes 1 night accommodations, 
all conference  registration and workshop materials, 2 refreshment breaks, 2 
lunches and  parking.  Travel, incidentals and additional meals are not covered 
by this  registration. 
Who  May Attend:  Prevention  specialists, educators (particularly Language 
Arts and Health), media and  literacy specialists, afterschool and other 
student services personnel who would  be in a position to teach the program to 
staff/teachers or directly to  students.
