Durham JobLink Receives Statewide Recognition and $25,000 Award

Money Will Go Toward Further Improving Operations

Durham, N.C. - The Durham JobLink Career Center has received an
important distinction - it is now among 22 out of 100 JobLink Career
Centers throughout North Carolina that has received a Level III Charter
from the North Carolina Commission on Workforce Development.

A Level III Charter is the highest distinction provided to a JobLink
Career Center and signifies that processes and procedures are in place
to ensure that businesses and job seekers receive optimal service.

In a letter to former Durham Workforce Development Board Chair Andy
Rothschild, Chair Christopher Rolfe of the North Carolina Commission on
Workforce Development cited the board's oversight for helping Durham
JobLink receive its accreditation. "We appreciate the efforts and the
key oversight role of the members of the Durham Workforce Development
Board, the board staff and the entire JobLink staff in your commitment
to quality," Rolfe stated.

As part of the award, the City of Durham and the Durham Workforce
Development Board will receive a $25,000 cash award that will be used to
further improve JobLink operations. Durham JobLink staff will receive
this special recognition at the upcoming North Carolina Workforce
Development Partnership Conference, to be held from October 22-October
24, 2008, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
