I would hate to have all the citizens on this group be from the development community, so please consider joining this group. Thanks, pat

Subject: Citizen's
Participation Group
Hello,
Durham’s
Environmental Affairs Board is creating a Subcommittee to serve as a
Citizen’s Participation Group (CPG) for Stormwater Management. The City of
Durham highly values the concerns and interests of citizens in the
protection and recovery of urban streams and regional watersheds. In
addition to a series of public meetings about the Stormwater Management and
watershed recovery process, this Citizen’s Participation Group offers
an opportunity for ongoing dialogue and input into the formulation of
Stormwater Protection Plans, Watershed Recovery Plans, and Water Quality
Monitoring Plans. To that end, we are looking for interested citizens
who are willing to make a commitment of at least one year with a an expected
meeting frequency of monthly during the first six months, likely tapering to
quarterly meetings thereafter.
An
informational meeting for all interested parties will be held December 3,
2008 at 7:00pm in City Hall’s 2nd Floor, Committee Room (101 City Hall
Plaza, Durham, NC 27701). Attendance at that meeting presents no obligation
to serve on the CPG. For more information about the meeting or the
CPG, please call Michelle Woolfolk, City of Durham Stormwater Services, at
(919) 560-1328 ext. 253.
Please
pass this notice on to anyone else you know who might be interested in
participating.
Thank
you!
Sincerely,
Abigail
