David Hoyle has introduced a bill in the NC Senate to keep counties and cities from having moratoria while they revise their development ordinances. The experience in Chatham County was that there was no way their planning staff could handle both the load of development cases and the process of modernizing their code. Not to mention that the moratorium cut out all the dumb ideas that the developers would try to slip in under the old rules. We should consider opposing this bill.

Regards, pat
