As discussed at the INC meeting tonight, INC member neighborhoods will hold an early meeting  in order to permit a vote on the attached resolution before April 13 (the date of the public hearing on the matter by the board of county commissioners).

Attached is the Resolution for consideration. Please take this to your neighborhoods and be prepared to vote on this resolution in early April.

And please DO NOT CLOUD THE ISSUE. This isn't about whether we have proof to show that the 751 Assemblage would, indeed, damage the Jordan Lake watershed. Durham's watershed protection boundaries are for protecting the lake, and the survey is what determines these boundaries. Allowing the developer to supply his own survey is likened to allowing the fox to inspect the henhouse. Durham needs to FOLLOW the precedent set with the Falls Lake Watershed boundaries -- we need an impartial, independent survey commissioned by our local government in order to ensure impartiality, accuracy and public trust.

Thanks!
Melissa (Rooney)
