[Durham INC] Now Being Made -- Jordan Lake T-shirts for April 13BOCC Public Hearing ($6)

I didn't come up with the slogan on my own, but I did think it made sense when I heard it...this is about clean government -- it's about following legal procedure (which several lawyers in addition to our tax-paid county attorney have already said means public hearings), not about searching until you find someone who will tell you that you can bypass it (only the lawyers for the development team have said this thus far)...

That said, I had thought about printing the word "Independent" on the front of the t-shirt, though I didn't want it to be confused with the Independent Weekly. If anyone would rather have a t-shirt with this printed (instead of the 'Clean Gov't, Clean Water' slogan), I'd be happy to make them a shirt like this instead. I'd still have the fox in the henhouse on the back, unless you don't want that either.

Just let me know what you want when you email me to order your shirt...

Melissa

It is fine for you to express your opinion but not
appropriate to judge the wisdom and certainly not necessary to question the
faith, honor or integrity of those different from you.  Some of our
elected officials are openly opposed to even having a public
hearing.

  I realize how
passionate people are about this but it strikes me that “clean government” is
inappropriate.  Everyone can disagree and resolve the issue without
  questioning good faith and honor.

  There is obviously
honor on all sides of the argument and elected officials are dealing with this
  very openly.

        Please see below (and
attached). If you are interested in buying a t-shirt (at cost) to wear
to the April 13 Public Hearing, or just to wear while doing work around
the house, let me know. I can bring them to the INC meeting on April 7
for you to pay and pick them up. No pressure, of course...just wanted to
make you all aware that they are being printed...

I need to know
        by this Wed.

Hi again. Just wanted
to tell you that I am doing the t-shirts. We had about 12 people
respond with their desire to purchase one.

Wanted to tell
you all that for XL and smaller, I can currently get the t-shirts
for a total cost of $6. Anything bigger than XL will cost
              $8.

If you have not requested one, but would still like a
T-shirt (see attachment), then please get back to me by this
Wednesday, so that I can have one made for you.

You can
pick up your shirts at my house at 301 Spring Garden Drive,
throughout the day. Call first to verify that I'll be here to give
it to you (919 405 1861). If this doesn't work for you, let me
know and we can make other
              arrangements...

Melissa

                            Hi all. I was
thinking about getting white t-shirts made with the
attached images on them -- the blue print would be
on the front, and the fox-henhouse picture would be
on the back. We could wear them to the April 13 BOCC
Public Hearing -- as a kind of silent protest.

I'm thinking they will cost $10-12 a piece.
But if I can get them for less, I will; and I will
only charge you for the actual cost of the t-shirt
                            (at no profit).

Before I go through the
                            trouble of finding a t-shirt printer/vendor and
talking to them about the details, I wanted to make
sure that I had at least 15 people who would be up
                            for buying the shirt.

So can you please drop
me a quick email and let me know if you would buy
                            one of these t-shirts?

[If you want a t-shirt
but don't want to wear it to the April 13 meeting,
                            that's okay too, of
                            course.]

Thanks!
Melissa
