greater responsibility for their community environment, is pleased to
announce its new and expanded KDB Grant Program. With the assistance
and support of local organizations over the past two years, KDB is
excited to roll out the following expanded grant options for volunteer
groups and educators in Durham:

KDB Community Grants Program

These grants are available to any group of volunteers that needs
assistance funding projects or programs related to litter, recycling
(waste reduction) or beautification. Grants are awarded based on
broadness of appeal, community interest and sustainability, among other
things. Grants are only available to groups of volunteers and must be
used in conjunction with Keep Durham Beautiful. Grant amounts are
normally $500 although the Grants Committee will consider any larger
grant request if funding is available.

KDB Teachers Grants

Any teacher in the Durham Public School System is encouraged to apply
for a KDB Teachers Grant of $250 to be used for programs and events
related to KDB's core issues of litter prevention, recycling & waste
reduction and beautification.

Grant applications can be found on line at
http://www.keepdurhambeautiful.org/our-programs/grants-programs.html and
are due by January 20, April 20, July 20, and October 20 for
