Please forward to your neighborhood listservs. Thanks! Melissa Rooney

The following events are taking place at Parkwood library (Revere Road, off 54) the week of Earth Day, as part of NE Creek Week (NE Creek is the waterway that flows through our neighborhood and a good deal of South Durham).

I will be conducting the storytime and craft (making butterflies and tadpoles -- really cute stuff). Would love to have a good turnout!

The slide show should be cool too, and my kids have always had fun with Art Hollander's live music programs...

Please join us for some fun and education about our own creek...

Here are the dates --

April 19: NE Creek Hike: 3 PM, Meet in front of Parkwood Library for a hike up the creek. (Some things to see in one of the wildest and richest sections include scenic views from one of the highest bluffs along the Creek, cliffs, vinelike resurrection ferns, pawpaws and other late spring flowers, swamps where canary yellow prothonotary warblers nest, early butterflies, calling cricket frogs and barred owls, deer, and beaver signs.)

April 20:
10-11 Creek Week Storytime and craft (Toddler, preschool, KG)
6-7 PM Creek Week Storytime and craft (all
 kids)

April 21:
7-8 PM NE Creek Streamwatch Slideshow/movie (local waterways and native wildlife)

April 23:
7 -8: NE Creekweek Live Music with Art Hollander (for kids of all ages)

Thanks!
Melissa Rooney
