A nonprofit retail fair trade store. ³Sales at One World Market provide a
sustainable source of fair pay that helps ensure a living wage for thousands

are struggling economically. We also sell items from impoverished regions of

Individual and subscriptions tickets on sale May 11.

American Dance Festival

There are discounted tickets available - $20 tickets are available for every
DPAC performance.  Purchase four or more tickets to our 2009 Festival and
save 30% off of regular ticket prices, although other restrictions may
apply.  A group of ten or more gets a group discount. Full-time students
with a valid student ID can purchase a half-price ticket at the box office
one hour prior to the beginning of each ADF performance. Duke, UNC, NCCU,
and Durham Tech employees, receive 20% off the regular ticket price.

Center (new for 2009), Reynolds Auditorium and Baldwin Auditorium.

On May 16th celebrate the music, dance, art and traditions of the African
American community. There will also be a host of weekday events planned from
Wednesday - Friday, May 13 - 15.

Mary's Gone Wild by Blaire Johnson, a look at a visionary folk artist from
eastern North Carolina.

Welcome to My Paradise by Rhonda Klevansky, the story of two sand artists
working on the beaches of Durban, South Africa.

The Outlaw Lewis Redmond by Neal Hutcheson, the story of the most famous
outlaw of his day, the Appalachian-born renegade who used his bootlegging to
help poor mountain families pay their taxes and stay on their land.

Los Trivinos de Huasco by Jessye McDowell, an experimental, poetic window
into the lives of an artistic family living among fishermen and farmers in
northern Chile.

Grace and the New Rules by Annie Howell, a complex portrait of Chapel Hill
housekeeper Grace Avery.
 
Admission is $5 per ticket.

Swap-O-Rama Rama

Scrap Exchange will have stations for sewing, painting, screenprinting, and
embellishing your finds, along with a DJ spinning tunes and a fashion runway
for participants to show off their creations. Just show up at the door with
$10 (suggested donation) and a bag of clothing and take whatever you like
from clothes that other swappers have brought in.

Durham Farmers¹ Market

Every Saturday 8 to noon, April to November.
Wednesdays 3:30 to 6:30pm, May to September.
Saturdays 10am to noon, December to March.

The Durham Farmers¹ Market is a producer-only market featuring the produce
and wares of more than 50 vendors, all of whom are located within 70 miles
of the market. The market offers locally grown fruits and vegetables, meats,
eggs, cheeses, cut flowers, baked goods, jellies, potted plants, honey,
handmade chocolates, local wines, hand-made soaps, pottery, jewelry and
artwork of all sorts.
