Please see below -- it takes 10 seconds to sign the thank you letter, and this was one resounding request by the panel at the PA meeting/forum last night.

Hi Melissa,
On Tuesday, by a vote of 106 to 8, state House lawmakers approved
a plan that will cut pollution into Jordan Lake by as much as
35 percent.
The plan still has to clear the state Senate, no easy feat. But
for the moment, let's celebrate.
Sign
our thank-you note.
As I told the News and Observer, the House approved-bill
isn't quite as good as the original plan regulators adopted last year.1
But it's still the first clean water law of its kind in the
state -- and perhaps the nation -- because it will reduce
polluted
runoff from strip malls and other existing developments near the lake.
That's good news for those who like to visit Jordan Lake for a hike
or a swim, and good news for all those who rely on Jordan Lake
for their drinking water.
Polite Tar Heels that we are, it's proper that we thank the House
members that made this possible -- at the urging of thousands of
Environment North Carolina supporters like you.
So we're writing a thank-you note to House Speaker Joe Hackney, Rep.
Lucy Allen, and other House proponents of a clean Jordan Lake.
Will you sign our thank-you note?

Of course, our work isn't over yet. As the Herald-Sun and
the Independent Weekly reported, the developers still aren't
satisfied--they've got plans to try to weaken the measure in the Senate.2,
3 Stay tuned for how you can help make sure that doesn't happen.
But for now: Celebrate!
Sincerely,

Elizabeth Ouzts
