Durham Hosts Neighborhood Meeting for Downtown's Proposed Comprehensive
Plan Amendments

Fast Facts:
* Durham residents interested in learning more about downtown's
proposed geographic boundary changes and zoning revisions should mark
their calendars now to attend this neighborhood meeting.
* Hosted by the Durham City-County Planning Department, the
meeting will allow residents and property owners to learn more about the
proposed set of amendments to the Durham Comprehensive Plan, which is
the first step in implementing the downtown zoning update.
* The proposed changes include altering the boundary of the
downtown tier; changing the future land use designation for properties
within the downtown tier; and text changes to the Durham Comprehensive
Plan. Implementation of the downtown zoning update will also include a
zoning map change and a Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) text
amendment.
* Staff from the Durham City-County Planning Department will be
present to answer questions on the proposed amendments.

About the Durham City-County Planning Department
The Durham City-County Planning Department is involved in many aspects
of community growth, including reviewing development plans and
protecting Durham's natural and cultural resources. Planners meet
regularly with citizen groups to discuss specific issues and to talk
generally about Durham's future. The department is charged with
implementing Durham's Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development
