Hardscrabble Garden Party and House Tour
219 Hardscrabble Drive, just off St. Mary's Road, between Guess and 
Bivins Roads

Built ca. 1775, expanded in 1790, Hardscrabble was restored 35 years 
ago and received the George and Mary Pyne Preservation Award in 
1977.   Listed individually on the National Register of Historical 
Places and designated a Durham County Historic Landmark, Hardscrabble 
retains many of its original Georgian and Federal elements.

Maplewood Cemetery Tour
1621 Duke University Road

Tom Miller, Bill Triplett and Milo Pyne will lead a tour of monuments 
at the graves of many prominent Durham residents who have been buried 
here since 1872.  Come learn Durham's past history and stroll through 
the cemetery listening to music - light refreshments will be served. Fee:  $25



Wednesday, June 16, 6 to 9 pm
Cabaret at King's Daughter's Inn
204 N. Buchanan Boulevard

  Something Old, Something New -Local jazz and cabaret singer Ellen 
Ciompi and Glenn Mehrbach (piano) will entertain at this new hotel 
created from the King's Daughters Home for retired women. Fee:  $25
