Wednesday, June 16, 6 to 9 pm
*Cabaret at King's Daughter's Inn*
*204 N. Buchanan Boulevard*

“Come to the Cabaret” in support of Preservation Durham's 35th Anniversary
celebration. Ellen Ciompi (vocal) and Glenn Mehrbach (piano) will perform
"Something Old, Something New" as you enjoy wine, soft drinks, and dinner
hors d'oeuvres at Durham's beautifully restored King's Daughters Inn.

Just as Preservation Durham is dedicated to the preservation of Durham's
unique architectural heritage, Ellen & Glenn are dedicated to the singular
art of cabaret. The two have been performing together since 2002
and exploring the traditional cabaret literature of the Great American Song
Book as well as that of Broadway and Hollywood musicals, even as they expand
the genre to embrace songwriters as diverse as Paul Simon, Tom Waits, the
Beatles, the Beach Boys, and Harry Chapin. Glenn is a staff accompanist at
Duke University, music director at the Unitarian Universalist Church of
Chapel Hill, and a music teacher at Camelot Academy in Durham. Ellen holds
both a BA and a MA in music; in addition, she is also a RN, practicing as a
surgical nurse at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Conveniently located across the street from Duke's East Campus on N Buchanan
Blvd, the King's Daughters Inn, which dates from 1925, opened in 2009, after
a two-year gut renovation by owners Colin & Deanna Crossman. Their efforts
earned them Preservation Durham's prestigious Pyne Preservation Award "for
sensitive restoration projects that preserve the architecture and heritage
of Durham”. We look forward to seeing you there!

Cost: $25, Tickets may be purchased online at www.preservationdurham.org.
Reservations can be made by contacting Preservation Durham by phone
(682-3036) or email info at preservationdurham.org.
