                        Voice Your Choice Video Contest Premieres 

                        August 20, 2010

                        Durham, NC - Kids Voting Durham's state office in North Carolina and the North Carolina Center for Voter Education are teaming up to sponsor the 2010 Voice Your Choice Video Contest.  
                         
                        North Carolina students that participate in the 2010 Voice Your Choice Video Contest  
                        will have an opportunity to show off their creative spirit by submitting 30-second videos, telling why voting is important.  Entries will be posted online and winners will be distributed to television outlets across North Carolina.  All entries must be nonpartisan.  The entry deadline is Friday, October 1, 2010. Winners will be announced by Monday, October 11.
                         
                        Students interested in submitting an entry are encouraged to use comedy, drama, animation, or music to creatively and effectively inspire all voters to go to the polls.  The contest has two divisions, one for high school students and another for college students.  High school and college classes as well as individual students may participate.  Submissions may not contain any copyrighted material without the written consent of the copyright owner.  Content must be nonpartisan and appropriate for audiences of all ages.  
                         
                        Entries will be accepted in DVD, MiniDVD or DVCPro formats.  Entries should be submitted to:

                        Students can also submit entries by uploading to a video-sharing site such as YouTube and emailing the link to entries at voiceyourchoicenc.com. Online entries must have an original, high-resolution copy on DVD available.
                         
                        All entries must include the following information:

                        Name 
                        Email address
                        Daytime telephone number
                        Mailing address
                        Division (high school or college)
                        Name of student's school
