County's 2011 Listing Period Ends January 31
The 2011 listing period ends on February 1, 2011.

Durham, N.C. - North Carolina state law requires that anyone that owns
property, that is subject to taxation, to list their property with the
local taxing jurisdiction from January 1 - January 31, 2011. With the
listing period cut-off date quickly approaching, the Durham County Tax
Administration Office encourages all citizens to make note and adhere to
the deadline.

The following should be listed with the local tax office:

 * Tangible personal property, such as boats, motors, jet skis,
manufactured homes, and un-tagged motor vehicles.
 * Tangible business personal property, such as business equipment,
furniture and fixtures, computers, etc. used in connection with the
business.
 * Any changes to the real property such as an addition or demolition to
the real property.
 * Any changes to the income of a resident who is currently receiving
the Homestead Property Tax Exemption or Circuit Breaker Exemption.

Citizens, who have obtained property that may be exempt from property
taxes and have not made application in the prior year, are required to
obtain and make application by January 31. To download a listing form or
application, citizens can visit the Durham County Tax Administration
website, at tax.durhamcountync.gov, and click on the link titled Forms and
Publications.
