I personally appreciate your compliance with Bill's request (I was going to give you a few more days before I asked for the same), as it simply makes receiving your communication in such an important domain, easier.

We address a lot of important issues in this public forum (most of which find their way onto the table during INC Meetings...meaning our time as volunteers on a Tuesday night is often determined by items which are 'New Business' i.e. from this listserv... and as such, it is imperative that we at-least know who is speaking for several reasons:

(A) For our President and Secretary: the organization, in assessing which issues to tackle, and in determining the aggressiveness with which we address them, (and for community organizing efforts for public meetings, etc) is more effective when we can gauge the tenor of discussion, and the physical direction within the different communities of Durham, from where the feedback is coming;

(B) Motive and Good Will: on some issues, it is important to maintain the integrity of the discussion. People have various motives and in some issues, the adversary can plant people to mislead, or misdirect the discussion, in an effort to cause chaos.  So, given the importance of community feedback within INC, the organization uses this list serv to execute important business; (B1) to engage the community, and in this case (B2) receive community feedback on important issues, so as to potentially address them. Both of which are difficult to assess, when an identity is unknown.

Bill meant well. And frankly, he did you a favor because I ignore all messages without some form of identification.  Now that I know your name, I'll get your messages out of the trash folder, read them and as with other messages, write your feedback down (in case we have discussion on the topic at our next meeting).
