Durham Residents Share their Thoughts about the County's Upcoming Budget

The final Conversations with Commissioners meetings scheduled on March 2 and 3.

March 1, 2011

Durham, NC - The Durham Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) kicked off their annual Conversations with Commissioners meetings last week. The BOCC hosts the annual meetings to gain the valuable perspective of citizens regarding the upcoming budget. Last Thursday and tonight, the BOCC gave Durham residents the floor to share their thoughts of how the FY 2011-2012 budget should be shaped and used. The BOCC anticipates additional input from Durham's citizens at the final Conversations with Commissioners meetings scheduled this week. Tomorrow at 1 p.m., the BOCC hosts a meeting at the Durham Center for Senior Life, located at 406 Rigsbee Avenue. The last meeting will be held at Durham's Main Library, located 300 N. Roxboro Street, on Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m. All Conversations with Conversations meetings begin with a brief presentation from the county and end with conversations between residents and the BOCC. For more information about the 2011 Conversations with Commissioners meetings, contact Michelle Parker-Evans, clerk to the Durham Board of County Commissioners, at (919) 560-0025 or via email at mparker-evans at durhamcountync.gov.
