Weekly construction update announcing upcoming construction items

Week of March 28 - April 1, 2011

 

City Hall Plaza Receives 
Storm Water Drainage

 

The City Hall Plaza construction includes

the installation of storm drainage pipe. Currently, the street has no
storm drainage and during periods of extreme heavy rainfall,

the lower level of City Hall has experienced

flooding.

 

This new storm drainage will divert stormwater runoff away from City
Hall and into the City's existing storm drainage system.

A trench box is being lowered into a ditch to provide protection for the
construction of new storm drainage inlets in the Mangum Street 
semi-circle.

This week, Lanier Construction 
continues the installation of the new storm drainage pipe from the
Mangum Street semi-circle up to City Hall Plaza.

The new eight-inch ductile iron water pipe is shown on City Hall Plaza
ready to replace the existing and aging water line.
