[Durham INC] City council to discuss 751 extensions AGAIN tomorrow A.M.

Tomorrow morning, the Durham City Council will meet to discuss whether to extend water and sewer services to 751 S.  An email to the council urging a NO vote could be very effective.

Issues:

1. Next to Jordan Lake

2. 166 acre site, 100 acres of clear cutting, 80 acres of impervious surface

3. 30,000 trips per day added to NC 751,  yet no one is paying for widening 751 from Stagecoach to I-40

4. Lawsuit challenging the legality of the rezoning is proceeding in Superior Court. 

5. Annexation later will be impossible due to new NC law

6. Boylan Development (a partner in Southern Durham Development) is less than stellar.  They are responsible for a failed condo development on 751 (The Landing at Southpoint, now being auctioned off at bargain basement prices). Last year, 40 mechanic's liens ($6 million) were filed against them over the Windsor Manor apartment complex in Raleigh.
