County Seeks Recycling Ambassadors   

September 12, 2011

Durham, NC - Durham County's Roadside Recycling Program is recruiting volunteers to participate in a new citizen outreach program.  Volunteers will be trained to become Recycling Ambassador-grassroots communicators who will serve as a resource for their friends and neighbors about recycling in Durham County.  They will share information about what to recycle, special recycling events, schedule changes, and other waste management services provided by the County.  
 
"We hope that with this new program, our Recycling Ambassadors will not only educate their friends and neighbors about what is recyclable, but also motivate them to recycle more," says Chrissie Koroivui, waste reduction specialist for Durham County General Services. 
 
Recycling Ambassadors must be customers of Durham County's Roadside Recycling Program which services the County's unincorporated residents.
