Construction Update

Construction update announcing upcoming construction items for Week of
September 19-30, 2011

 

Brick Pavers Installation Underway for City Hall Plaza

Lanier Construction began installing brick pavers in parts of the
sidewalk to City Hall Plaza at the Liberty Street intersection and is
working towards the Mangum Street intersection.

 

 

 

 

New brick pavers are shown being installed at the City Hall Plaza and
Liberty Street intersection.

As shown above, the delicate underground utility 
work is scheduled for completion this week and 
the Contractor will close up City Hall Plaza.

Underground Utility Installation Scheduled for Completion

Integrating the necessary utility improvements through a sea of existing
underground utilities is coming to an end. The Contractor is preparing
to complete this work and will begin closing up the street. Once
completed, work can begin on the above ground construction.  

City Hall Plaza Expected to be Completed in December

A redesign requests add additional streetscaping to the project. The
design will include demolition of the existing concrete wall and several
trees near the front entrance of City Hall. In its place there will be
new landscaping, street trees, pavers, and an additional 3-4 on-street
parking spaces. This work will take an additional 60 days to complete.

City Hall Annex Project

The roof repairs for the City Hall Annex will continue next week and is
proceeding as scheduled. For more information regarding this project,
