Deadline to Register for Economic Development Resource Forum Nov. 30
What: 2011 Economic Development Resource Forum
Who: City of Durham Office of Economic and Workforce
Development, Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, and the North Carolina
Institute for Minority Economic Development
When: Wednesday, December 7, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 11:30
a.m.
Where: City Hall
City Council Chambers, 1st Floor

Fast Facts:
* The 2011 Economic Development Resource Forum will provide
information to developers, entrepreneurs, and business owners regarding
various financial resources that are potentially available for their
projects.
* Financial assistance opportunities to be highlighted include
the Urban Progress Zone Program, North Carolina Institute of Minority
Economic Development Program, North Carolina Capital Access Program, and
the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. Speakers at this year's forum
include:
o Urban Progress Zone: Will Best, analyst with the Community
Development Division of the North Carolina Department of Commerce
o North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development (NCIMED):
Dan Stafford, director of Information Technology Coordination &
Compliance with NCIMED
o North Carolina Capital Access Program: Tom Wall, director of the
North Carolina Capital Access Program with the North Carolina Rural
Economic Development Center, Inc.
o EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program: Ben Cummings, managing director
with Birch Capital, LLC
* 10-minute presentations will be provided by each speaker
followed by question-and-answer sessions. Light refreshments will also
be served.
* Parking for this forum will be available in the Chapel Hill
Street Garage and Lot, located at 326 E. Chapel Hill St., as well as
on-street parking on nearby streets.
* Participants interesting in attending the conference should
R.S.V.P. by Wednesday, November 30, 2011, by contacting Grace
