New "CityLife" Airing Tonight on DTV8

Whenever gun violence erupts in a city, it rocks the entire community.
Durham is no exception. Whether you live in northern Durham County or in
the heart of the city...when gun violence happens, it impacts our
collective sense of safety, our quality of life, and how others perceive
our community. So, how does the Durham Police Department tackle this
issue and what can residents do to help?

This month, "CityLife" Host Beverly B. Thompson is joined by Durham
Police Department Deputy Chief Steve Mihaich and Analytical Services
Manager Jason Schiess to discuss what the department is doing to curb
violence in Northeast Central Durham as well as other areas of our
community.

For the second half of "CityLife," District One Assistant Commander
Lieutenant Walter Tate and Project Safe Neighborhoods Coordinator
Jennifer Snyder discuss how residents can help reduce and prevent
violent crime to ensure that Durham is a safe place to live, work, and
play.

Tune in to DTV8, the City of Durham's government channel on Time Warner
Cable channel 8, to watch this brand new episode beginning Friday,
December 2, 2011, at 7:30 p.m.
