New Policies to Guide How City Handles Failed and Struggling
Developments

New guidelines are now in place for the way the City will be handling
failed and struggling developments. The changes were needed due to the
increasing number of developments that have been left incomplete because
of the current economy. Assistant Manager of Stormwater Development
Review Robert Joyner explains how the new policies are expected to help
address the issue on this episode of "City Hall This Week."

Management of the Durham Athletic Park Changes Hands

The Durham Athletic Park is now operating under new management. The
Durham Bulls have temporarily taken over operations of the facility from
Minor League Baseball through August while the City finds a new
permanent manager. Office of Economic and Workforce Development Director
Kevin Dick explains how the new agreement will work and how the facility
will remain a vital part of baseball in Durham on this episode of "City
Hall This Week."

City Awards Economic Development Building Improvement Grants

The City is encouraging more economic development in the downtown area
through the award of four building improvement grants. The grants range
from $62,000 to $75,000 and will be used to upgrade and revitalize
vacant commercial buildings. The goal of the grant program is to attract
additional investment and help with overall economic improvement in
Durham.
