Downtown Durham National Register Historic District Update Public Meeting on January 23, 2012 The Durham City-County Planning Department will host a public meeting on a project to update the 1978 Downtown Durham National Register Historic District nomination. The update will extend the period of significance beyond its current end in the 1930s to a post-World War II date (to be determined), and update the inventory list specifying contributing/noncontributing status for the district’s buildings. All interested parties are welcome to attend the meeting. The consultant will provide information about the project and answer questions.  In addition, the consultant is seeking any information about the district's development, especially during the 1940-1970s period. The meeting will take place on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 6:00 pm in the Committee Room on the second floor of City Hall (101 City Hall Plaza).
