Durham Offers Small Business Workshop Beginning Feb. 14

Free Workshop Series Designed to Support Small Business Growth and
Development; 

Fourth Seminar Set for February 14 - March 20   

 

What:              "Scheduling and Estimating" - Seminar #4 in Workshop
Series for Small Businesses 

 

Who:               City of Durham Equal Opportunity and Equity Assurance
Department and Skanska USA Building

 

When:             Every Tuesday from February 14, 2012 to March 20,
2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

 

Where:            Skanska USA Building 

4309 Emperor Blvd., Suite 200 

Durham, N.C. 27703

 

Fast Facts:

*         This training will be conducted in partnership with Skanska
USA Building, and will concentrate on enhancing the scheduling and
estimating skills of small construction business owners. 

 

*         The training will extend for eight weeks and will be conducted
on site at Skanska's location on Emperor Boulevard. Highlights of the
training will include: blueprint reading, construction plans and
specifications, construction bid documents, quantity take-offs, pricing,
and computer-estimating programs. 

 

*         Classes will be taught by professionals from Skanska's
Estimating Department. Participation in these classes will be limited
and will be managed on a first come, first served basis.

 

*         This seminar series was developed by the City's Equal
Opportunity/Equity Assurance Department to provide technical assistance
services to local, small businesses for this fiscal year. These free
workshops are open to all interested small business owners and
entrepreneurs. 

 

*         Participants must be committed to attending all eight of the
"Scheduling and Estimating" classes and are asked to pre-register by
visiting the City's website at

About the Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance Department

The City of Durham's Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance Department is
