New "City Hall This Week" Begins Today

New Episode Begins Airing Thursday, April 5 on DTV8 and "On Demand" on
the City's DTV8 Website and YouTube

 

DURHAM, N.C. - The following highlights from the April 2, 2012 Durham
City Council meeting and other topics of interest will be featured in
this episode of "City Hall This Week." 

 

The show begins airing tonight at 8 p.m. on DTV8 (Time Warner Cable
channel 8) and is also now available to watch "on demand" at

City Council Adopts FY 2012-2013 Budget Guidelines

The City administration now has a set of guidelines in place to steer
the development of the FY 2012-2013 budget. The City Council adopted the
guidelines, which are based primarily on the priorities outlined in the
City's Strategic Plan. Budget and Management Services Director Bertha
Johnson explains more about what is included in the guidelines in this
episode of "City Hall This Week."

 

Public Hearing Set for Designing Better Bus Service in Durham

A public hearing will be held on Monday, April 16 for the City Council
to receive public comments on the draft plan for Designing Better Bus
Service in Durham. The plan was prepared by Triangle Transit as a
three-year road map for improving the service provided by the Durham
Area Transit Authority. John Tallmadge, director of Regional Services
Development for Triangle Transit, explains what the draft plan's key
recommendations are in this episode of "City Hall This Week."

 

Construction Set to Begin on Final Phase of American Tobacco Trail in
Durham

Construction on the final phase of the American Tobacco Trail in Durham
is scheduled to get underway this summer. This phase includes the
construction of 4.2 miles of the trail from U.S. Highway 54 south to the
Chatham County line, including a new bicycle-pedestrian bridge over
Interstate 40. The City Council approved an $8,965,024 contract for the
construction of the project. Another $300,000 will also be added to a
separate construction management services contract. The project is
expected to be finished by July 2013.

residents about what is going on inside Durham's City Hall. Each edition
is taped on the first and third Tuesday of the month - the day after
City Council meetings. It airs three times a day on DTV8 (Time Warner
Cable channel 8) through the week of the next City Council meeting.
