                                   2012 Annual Meeting and Places in Peril

*Preservation Durham is changing its schedule in 2012 to create two events
highlighting Places in Peril and Preservation Award winners.*

for
2012 will be announced at a luncheon meeting on Wednesday, May 16.* PiP
Committee members will also give updates on Places in Peril identified in
previous years. Some have seen improvement in their situations, others may
not have fared as well.

*Preservation Awards <http://www.preservationdurham.org/awards/pyne.html> for
2012 will be announced at a special event in October 2012.* The award
winners will be announced during a reception in honor of members of the
George Watts Hill Circle, a group of generous donors who pledge $1000
annually to support Preservation Durham. Stay tuned to this website for
more details as plans develop. Preservation Durham's awards include the
George and Mary Pyne Award for Preservation, the Neighborhood Conservation
Award for restoration or renovation of properties. The Preservation
Advocacy Award, instituted in 2011, recognizes individuals who have
contributed to the public discussion of Durham’s architecture and history,
have lobbied for effective Preservation policies, or have otherwise
championed the recognition and retention of Durham’s historic resources.
The Bartlett Durham Award honors individuals for a lifetime committment to
historic preservation.
