Durham Hosts Business Innovation Through Exporting Panel Discussion

Free Opportunity for Small Agribusinesses Interested in Developing Ways
to Expand Their Market

 

What:              "Business Innovation Through Exporting" Panel
Discussion 

 

Who:               City of Durham's Office of Economic and Workforce
Development Small Business Advisory Committee in collaboration with the
N.C. Institute of Minority Economic Development

 

When:            Thursday, June 28, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon

Fast Facts

*         This panel discussion is designed to assist small businesses
in developing creative ways to expand their market with particular
emphasis on agribusiness. 

 

*         Subjects to be covered include: an overview of North Carolina
exports; competing and succeeding in the global marketplace;
fundamentals of exporting; technical assistance resources; advantages
and disadvantages in exporting; and how agribusinesses should take their
products or services to market.

 

*         Panelists include representatives from federal, state, and
local agencies such as the North Carolina Department of Commerce's
International Trade Division, North Carolina's Small Business and
Technology Development Center, and the U.S. Department of Commerce's
Export Assistance Center.

 

*         The cost to attend the panel discussion is free. However,
seating is limited, so interested attendees should reserve their spot by
June 25, 2012 by contacting Grace Dzidzienyo, senior economic
development coordinator with the City's Office of Economic and Workforce
Development, at (919) 560-4965, ext. 15206 or by email at

*         The panel discussion will also be broadcast live on DTV8 (Time
Warner Cable channel 8).
