Durham County Library Hosts North Carolina Barbecue
Culinary Expert Bob Garner

About:                  Durham County Library will host Bob Garner, one of America's noted experts on a food often described as North Carolina's most cherished delicacy: barbecue. Garner will lead a discussion based on his latest book, Bob Garner's Book of Barbecue: North Carolina's Favorite Food on Tuesday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at the Southwest Regional Library, 3605 Shannon Road. A book signing will follow the talk.

As an ambassador for North Carolina's barbecue food culture, Garner has hosted many shows on WUNC-TV and has appeared on Paula's Home Cookin', the Food Nation with Bobby Flay, the Travel Channel's Road Trip and ABC's Good Morning America. While trekking across the state, Garner leads culinary tours and documents North Carolina's food traditions. He works as spokesperson and in-house curator for downtown Raleigh's popular barbecue restaurant, The Pit.
