New "City Hall This Week" Begins February 15

Coffee with Council Sessions Now Underway; Fox 50/JobLink Career Expo
Begins Feb. 15

 

DTV8's "City Hall This Week" will debut a new show tomorrow at 8 p.m.
Hosted by Senior Public Affairs Specialist Amy Blalock, this show will
feature the following highlights and other topics of interest. You can

Coffee with Council Sessions Offer Opportunity for Public Input on
Budget

A number of Coffee with Council community meetings will be held during
February and March for anyone who wants to offer input on Durham's
budget for next year. Information on when and where the sessions will be
held is available on the City's website at 
http://durhamnc.gov/Pages/NNDetails.aspx?detailId=327. A public hearing
on the budget will be held on Monday, March 4. 

 

New Officers Join the Ranks of the Durham Police Department 

The Durham Police Department now has 16 new officers on the force. The
officers graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training on February 5.
The new graduates include 14 men and two women, and they range in age
from 20 to 32 years old. They will each be assigned to a police training
officer for approximately six months.

 

Fox 50/JobLink Career Expo Offers Five Days of Workforce-Related
Opportunities

The Fox 50/JobLink Career Expo is providing those looking for a job the
opportunity to connect with potential employers. The event will take
place February 15-21. It will offer four days of workshops for employers
and jobseekers as well as a Career Fair on February 21. The fair will be
held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Durham Armory. For more information,
