The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization's
Long Range Transportation Plan is receiving national recognition. The
2035 Long Range Plan has been cited as one of six plans nationwide for
how resident-friendly it is. The plan received this designation from the
Florida Department of Transportation's Office of Policy Planning. The
plans were rated on four criteria - length, clarity, graphics and

Landlord Training Now Offered Every Month by City

The City is continuing its efforts to help Durham's landlords more

training workshops will be held on the third Thursday of every month.
They will focus on how to build landlord, renter, homeowner and business
relationships; applicant screening techniques; rental agreements and
fair housing issues; management techniques; and the eviction process.

Annual Arbor Day Celebration to Mark Milestone

The City will be marking a milestone at this year's annual Arbor Day
celebration. The free event will be held on Friday, March 22 at 11 a.m.
in the newly landscaped Black Wall Street Plaza in downtown. As part of
the day's events, Durham will be recognized as a "Tree City USA" for the
30th consecutive year. Attendees will also be able to receive a free
tree seedling. Photos of the newly planted tree can be redeemed for
