Durham Hosts Mortgage Default Clinic April 24

 

What:              Mortgage Default Clinic in recognition of Fair
Housing Month          

 

Who:               City of Durham Community Development Department,
Durham Regional Financial Center, Triangle Family Services, and
Reinvestment Partners

 

When:             Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

Where:            City Hall Council Chambers

                        101 City Hall Plaza

                        Durham, N.C. 27701

 

Fast Facts:

*         Homeowners in danger of defaulting on their mortgages are
invited to attend this free clinic to hear from local certified housing
counselors on ways to prevent losing their homes.

 

*         Information will also be provided regarding eligibility
requirements for homeowners to receive up to $36,000 in mortgage
assistance with no repayment required.

 

*         Light refreshments and giveaways will also be provided. To

About the Community Development Department

The City of Durham's Community Development Department is responsible for
coordinating the City's housing resources and various housing assistance
programs as well as promoting affordable housing by working with
investors and community housing development organizations. The
department also provides assistance with the abatement of lead in older
homes and administers the City's entitlement programs from the U.S.
Department of Housing & Urban Development. Guided by the City's
