Advisors and Colleagues,

 

Tomorrow at noon I will be representing Kids Voting Durham on NPR's The State of Things with Frank Stasio for their Week in Review segment.   The topic is looking at Margaret Thatcher's style of leadership and political style with what is going on the NC State Legislature, focusing on the Dix Bill and McCrory's plan for privatizing Medicaid and shifting economic development to a nonprofit corporation.

 

There will be WRAL's political correspondent and a Duke political science historian to provide the nitty gritty on the bills and the history.  I am there to provide a nonpartisan perspective on how Kids Voting Durham supports young people to critically and thoughtfully evaluate issues, candidates and leaders and be full participants in democracy.

 

Please tune in if you can.  I will of course use this as an opportunity to not only promote Kids Voting Durham but the great work of Durham Cooperative Extension and the many other KV's around the state (if I can get a word in between the policy wonks - the producer encouraged to be pushy about getting our story in!)
