> · Know where to go (basement, space without windows such as interior hallway)
> · How to get in touch with loved ones
> · Rehearse and talk about plan with young children
> Supplies to keep on hand in case electricity goes out or you cannot get out on road due to trees down, ice and snow
> · Prescription medicine: enough to last at least 7 days
> · Cell phone (batteries replenished)
> · Gas in the car (in case of an emergency)
> · Radio (battery or solar powered)
> · Weather radio (battery or solar powered)
> · Money on hand (in case cannot use an ATM)
> · Nonperishable food, including 6 packs of soy or rice milk (not need to be refrigerated) fruits & vegetables (for example, apples and carrots)
> · Cooler and blue ice (so not to open refrigerator)
> · Flashlights with batteries (check expiration date)
> · Lantern (like used for camping) and power source (kerosene, batteries etc)
