Mike- thanks for taking this up (again).

Please ask him to support neighbors in East Durham reverting to their porch mailboxes. This neighborhood received, and is still receiving, the same misleading letters, but most neighbors were not connected to informed neighbors that could tell them not to be tricked. I think the Post Office should allow those who would like to revert to porch service since the "service change" was achieved via misleading the customer.

I just left *another * detailed message with the Regional Manager in Greensboro. He and I have a phone appointment this afternoon. I will press him again for a permanent fix to this recurring annoyance. I share more later today or tomorrow.

They are at it again, this time in Duke Forest.  Tenants arriving from
Charlotte received a notice from the post office that they need to have a
street mailbox and that all their mail is being held until one was
installed.  

New neighbors, if you receive a note like this, please let the Postmaster
and the listserv know.  The letter is not valid and the post office has no
authority to make you move your mailbox out to the street.
