[Durham INC] Fw: HELP! Emails needed to stop 751 South TODAY

Please see below and please take the time to make your voice/concerns known to the mayor and the city council by email THIS WEEK. It seems the Mayor feels their hands are tied and that they shld at least try to get a 7M road widening of 751 out of these guys before they build their mini city on the very edge of Jordan Lake. Fact is, this road widening is necessary to accommodate traffic from this 751 S development and will only open the floodgates for increased density along this environmentally sensitive corridor, thereby lining these developers' pockets even more (at long-term tax-payers' expense).

The largest community concern is Environmental. Where are the developers' Environmental concessions? 

The affordable housing component has also completely disappeared. 

Write the mayor and the cc and tell them not to fold their hand. At the very least, make the developers take their fight to Raleigh and make our state legislators pay the political price for their involvement here. 

Thanks for caring, for writing, and for personally appearing at the city council public hearing on June 3 (and pls sign up to speak if you feel remotely passionate about this issue and the precedent it reinforces).
