>I just talked with an Engineering Inspector who was marking the W. Seeman St brick sidewalk for replacement.  He shared that concrete is planned, and work could start at any time.  These bricks are said to be some of the "Fitzgerald bricks" that were produced locally in the late 1800s, and used in several of the brick buildings downtown.  The patterned bricks in this walk are the same as those seen in the brick walk at brightleaf.  If you would like to see this walkway spared, please call and write to Kyle Butler (560-4326 ext 30245 kyle.butler at durhamnc.gov) -- today is his last day before retiring, and his replacement Eric Marsh (ext 30296 eric.marsh at durhamnc.gov --I'm guessing at Eric's email address). Ask them to postpone work on this contract until other options can be explored.  Thanks,
