Fast Facts:
* Business owners are invited to learn about E-Verify, the free and easy-to-use service that lets employers verify the employment eligibility of new employees. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is working to stop unauthorized employment. By using E-Verify to determine the employment eligibility of their employees, business owners can become part of the solution in addressing this problem since employment eligibility verification is good business and it's the law.

* This webinar will cover topics such as how E-Verify works, highlights and enhancements, employer responsibilities, how to enroll, demonstration of the program, and form I-9 information.

* To join the webinar from any location, go to https://connect16.uc.att.com/EventEntry/Websites/?VaccId=uscis&ExEventID=83718587. Business owners can register up to 10 minutes before the start of the webinar.

* Additionally, the webinar can be viewed in the City Hall Audit Services Conference Room. For those who attend the City Hall webinar session, there will also be a discussion of the new E-Verify requirements for City of Durham public contracts.

* Participants who plan to attend the City Hall session are asked to pre-register by visiting http://durhamnc.gov/ich/as/eoea/Pages/training_request.aspx or by contacting Senior Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance Specialist Vincent Wingate by email at Vincent.Wingate at DurhamNC.gov<mailto:Vincent.Wingate at DurhamNC.gov>, or by calling (919) 560-4180, extension 17241.
