Children's Coats, Hats and Gloves are Needed the Most.

Facts: 
The second annual Welcome Baby Coat and Diaper Drive hosted by the Durham County Cooperative Extension Department's Welcome Baby Program started today.   Donations gathered during the drive will keep children warm this winter and offer a resource for diapers for families in need.  Children's coats up to size 8 and children's hats and gloves are of great need during the drive.    Last year, 200 children were given new or gently worn coats and thousands of diapers were made available to infants throughout Durham.  The goal set for the 2013 Welcome Baby Coat and Diaper Drive is to double collections from last year.  Drop off locations for the 2013 Welcome Baby Coat and Diaper Drive include:

Roxboro Streeto   East Regional Library:  211 Lick Creek Laneo   North Regional Library: 221 Milton Road                                                         o   Southwest Regional Library:  3605 Shannon Roado   Durham County Human Services Complex:  400 E. Main Streeto   Self Help Credit Union, 301 W. Main Street

About the Welcome Baby Family Resource Center
Welcome Baby serves close to 10,000 families a year, buy providing parenting classes, car seat classes, cribs, developmental newsletters and through the Giving Closet. The Giving Closet is where families in Durham can come and shop (at no cost) for clothes, diapers and baby equipment for their children 5 years and under.
